The Lufthansa Technik Group has selected the Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and the ThingWorx Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platforms as the core technology to digitally transform its product development and engineering processes, said PTC in a press release.
“With the growth opportunity in front of us in the Industrial Internet of Things and Augmented Reality, other strategic initiatives we’ve undertaken, and our continued commitment to operating margin improvement, we are realigning our workforce in the beginning of FY’19 to shift investment to support these strategic, high growth opportunities,” said the CEO.
The new program is designed to support the reporting and remediation of security vulnerabilities that could potentially affect the environments in which PTC products operate.
This CoE will build on Infosys’ Industry 4.0 thought leadership, deep knowledge of traditional product engineering and industry domains, along with the understanding of clients’ existing assets.
In one of the biggest acquisitions in the world of the Internet of Things in recent times, tech solutions provider PTC has acquired ThingWorx, creators of an award-winning platform for building and running applications for the Internet of Things (IoT), for approximately $112 million, plus a possible earn-out of up to $18 million.
