UK co EVRYTHNG and Samsung tie up on Web of Things

London, Oct. 31, 2014: The United Kingdom-based Web of Things software company EVRYTHNG has announced a partnership with Samsung and that it had received funds from Samsung’s global investment arm, Samsung Ventures Investment Corporation (SVIC).

IoT tieupWriting on the official blog, Founder and Chief Executive Officer Niall Murphy said, “It’s very exciting to receive this additional support for EVRYTHNG’s technology vision of the Web of Things where disparate products and other objects interconnect and share data via the Web and Web technologies, creating significant new value for end users, brands and enterprises.”

The CEO, though, has not mentioned the exact nature of the relationship nor the size of the fund. He has said, historically and by design, many connected products have operated in closed environments that cannot easily connect with third party products, applications or systems. “We believe we are headed into a world of every thing connected, which means that the value of any one product becomes increasingly tied to how well it is able to digitally connect with people, products, applications, environments and systems that surround it. EVRYTHNG’s Web of Things technology and EVRYTHNG Engine platform-as-a-service provide the capabilities that global product manufacturers need to embrace this environment.”

Niall also called the Samsung partnership “a powerful and important addition, and another endorsement of EVRYTHNG’s technology and vision”.

Samsung is developing a Smart Home system that could turn out to rival Apple‘s HomeKit. Some months ago, it bought smart home hub maker SmartThings. The idea is to create an open smart home platform that brings together third-party developers, device makers, and consumers.

EVRYTHNG is a Web of Things software company, making products smart by connecting them to the Web. Companies use EVRYTHNG’s software-as-a-service to manage their connected products, make product operations smarter with real-time tracking analytics, and help their customers connect to products in a smarter way.

The EVRYTHNG Engine helps companies to manage billions of intelligent Online identities in the Cloud for their products.
