UAE’s first driverless truck revealed

Dubai South and Evocargo recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to begin the nation’s first autonomous vehicle trials for cargo in the master development’s Logistics District, in keeping with the UAE’s goal of becoming the world’s centre for smart mobility.

According to Dubai Media Office, the tests, which will be conducted in the Logistics District of the development, are meant to let Evocargo observe their EVO.1 truck and reconfigure it specifically for the Middle East and North Africa region.

The EVO.1 can lift 2,000 kg, according to the release, and can move up to six Euro-pallets at a pace of 25 kilometres per hour for up to 200 kilometres. According to Bolshakov, the trial was an important milestone for the company as it opened doors to expanding its product line in the crucial Middle Eastern and Asian markets.
