Sharing experience is name of the game for IoT – Glassbeam & ThingWorx collaboration a case in point

glassbeamthingworxSanta Clara, California, May 5, 2015: Principal Analyst, Machina Research, Emil Berthelsen, yesterday wrote on the ThingWorx blog that in designing and implementing end-to-end Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, enterprises would need to build partnerships and collaborations with others in the IoT ecosystem, either at a strategic or operational level. These partnerships, Emil posted, would assist enterprises to achieve crucial tasks such as product and service development, creating new channels to market, or adding value to applications and services.

This concept of sharing IoT experience between companies seems to be working well between ThingWorx, an IoT platform, and Glassbeam, Inc., the machine data analytics company. The latter announced today that its collaboration with ThingWorx had already facilitated the signing up a new customer in the medical devices field, and others were in the pipeline. Which evidently means this collaboration was working. Glassbeam had joined the ThingWorx partner ecosystem as a ThingWorx Ready partner, and built a technical connector into the ThingWorx platform, only earlier this year.

The ThingWorx rapid application development IoT platform was designed to build and run applications for the connected world.  It enabled customers to reduce the time, cost, and risks required to build innovative applications for smart, connected products.  Glassbeam was known as a “proven” service provider, giving advanced machine learning and real time analytics, while simultaneously taking in and analyzing data collected and stored inside the ThingWorx platform.  Together, these two solutions allowed customers  to reduce costs, increase revenues, and accelerate product time to market while improving customer satisfaction and retention.

VytronUS, one of the foremost clinical stage medical device companies, had selected the ThingWorx and Glassbeam solutions to collect and analyze machine data information from its systems.

“Customers need the ability to derive new intelligence from data, and we’re building out our certified partner marketplace to meet that need,” explained Chris Kuntz, Vice President of Ecosystem Programs, ThingWorx.  “The addition of Glassbeam allows customers to analyse their data directly in the Glassbeam platform.”

“We believe that Glassbeam and the ThingWorx platform working in tandem as an end-to-end solution for customers to view rich analytics, based on data in their machines and from adjacent applications, is highly valuable” commented Puneet Pandit, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Glassbeam.  “We knew that our collaboration with ThingWorx was going to be successful.  Now, with  the addition of VytronUS as a customer and active prospect discussions, we’re  excited about the possibilities created by this collaboration. ”

The ThingWorx Ready Program allows hardware and software companies to pre-integrate their product with the ThingWorx rapid application development platform, thus simplifying the creation and deployment of IoT solutions. These companies provide a wide variety of products throughout the entire connected world value chain — from software systems and Cloud platforms to smart sensors, devices, gateways and machines.
