Microsoft and Jasper team up on IoT

IT major Microsoft took yet another step in the direction of the Internet of Things (IoT) when it announced it had decided to partner with startup Jasper to integrate their Cloud-based software for customers. The alliance means connecting everything from cars to vending machines.

For those who didn’t know, Jasper sells backend software for companies specifically to manage cellular connections embedded in devices. This software will be integrated with Microsoft’s Cloud offering, Azure.

Microsoft sells an IoT Azure suite, which permits companies to perform Big Data analytics on the performance of their machines. It also offers analytics and data management tools that help customers manage the data that comes from those connected devices. This Azure IoT suite will ship as a public preview later this year.
