Japanese IoT developer IQP concludes collaborative agreement with Fujitsu

iqpjapanSan Francisco, June 26, 2015: IQP Japan Corporation, a Tokyo-headquartered Internet of Things (IoT) developer, has said it had concluded a collaborative agreement with Fujitsu Limited and reached an agreement to expand their cooperation on Fujitsu’s IoT initiatives. IQP had also received an equity investment from Fujitsu’s corporate venture fund, though the company did not reveal the exact size.

Of late, IQP has been stepping up on the gas, so to speak, on business cooperation with partnering companies to drive global deployment of its ‘Code-Free App Development System’ in the United States.

Fujitsu had begun field trials of the IQP development platform late last year. The IQP system will be used in the FUJITSU CLOUD IoT Platform, Fujitsu’s IoT data infrastructure, which was launched earlier this month. IQP Japan and Fujitsu will collaborate on the FUJITSU CLOUD IoT Platform as a commercial offering for Fujitsu’s customers.

IQP said it was also progressing toward a global collaboration with IBM and was selected to participate in IBM’s partnership program, the “Alpha Zone Accelerator,” in January 2015. Business cooperation with several other large-scale Japanese companies was also in the works, it added.

Guy Kaplinksy, Chief Executive Officer of IQP Japan Corporation, said, “There is increasing demand from companies worldwide for IoT solutions. The timing is right for us to increase our sales presence and to create alliances with selected leading companies and interested investors.”

The IQP System enables brands, manufacturers, telecom operators, system integrators, public service providers and other organisations to develop a sustainable business model for the IoT and Business Application Markets. Users can quickly develop applications without any knowledge in programming code. It also enables companies to create their own App Market and allows third parties to develop applications for an ecosystem that generates profits from IoT applications.
