Citrix’s Project Octoblu: Moving forward on IoT

Orlando, May 14, 2015: American Cloud computing company Citrix is now making a serious move on the Internet of Things (IoT). The 1st step in this direction is Project Octoblu, a combination of Cloud-hosted software, hardware, and a tie-up with Amazon.

OctobluIt was at the on-going Synergy 2015 that details of Project Octoblu was revealed by Chief Executive Officer of Citrix Mark Templeton. Octoblu enables companies to create IoT services with secure real time exchange of data. The services are built on an open communications and management platform that supports a variety of protocols for physical devices to communicate seamlessly with each other, people, legacy applications, and cloud services. Through public, private, or hybrid Clouds users can connect, design, process, and analyze the flow of information.  All services have been designed through a robust security and right management architecture.

Citirix has provided resources for developers to get started. Using Octoblu APIs, they can integrate existing or new applications on to the Octoblu IoT platform. The Octoblu beta invite is available at the click of a button.
