Brazil asks citizens their views on IoT & M2M

A report in telecompaper.com says Brazil’s National Agency of Telecommunications (Anatel) has green-lighted the start of a public consultation to assess the regulation and reduce the barriers to expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine to Machine (M2M) applications.

Those interested can send in their comments for 45 days. A public hearing will then be held in Brazil on a date yet to be announced.

The draft document foresees amendments to the regulations on MVNO operators; more flexibility for the activities of regional providers outside their area of coverage through the use of numbering resources and roaming agreements; as well as providing more information to consumers on the conditions of use of services.
