Tech co SoftServe launches IoT challenge along with Code4Health

Technology solutions company SoftServe will sponsor and launch the ‘Integrated Social Care with Internet of Body Things Challenge’ in conjunction with Code4Health at the 2015 NHS Innovation Expo in Manchester, United Kingdom.

The goal of the challenge is “to identify innovative and low cost ways to engage with and provide early warning signs for individuals who require social care in order to expedite an in-home intervention using the Internet of Body Things”, said SoftServe in a press statement.

The Challenge will be open for entries from September 14 until December 15, 2015 and the winner will be announced on January 15, 2016. SoftServe will work with the winning team to help build a minimal viable and visually engaging prototype over the course of 1 month after the final selection. This rapid prototyping will help the winner present their solution to appropriate stakeholders and ultimately turn their idea into reality.

“The Internet of Body Things with wearables, home and environmental sensors, and even insertable and implantable devices, as well as anytime, anywhere internet connectivity, has already made a significant impact on healthcare consumers and providers. It gives consumers the opportunity to better understand their own health and that of their loved ones.” said Eugene Borukhovich, Senior Vice President and Global Vertical Practice Leader, Healthcare, SoftServe.

SoftServe is an accredited provider of Code4Health, a program managed by NHS England to enable the best use of digital tools and technology in order to deliver safe, high quality, efficient and compassionate care. The initiative aims to educate and inform all participants in the health and care community about the opportunities digital technology offers the healthcare market.
