Smart thermostat co Nest acquires smart solutions company Revolv

Google company Nest seems to have a plan up its sleeve, evident from the fact that it has just acquired Revolv, a US based company that provides a hub for “smart” devices.

revolvpageThe announcement was put out on the Revolv Website, though there’s nothing said about the terms and conditions of this acquisition. This Website had featured the Colorado located Revolv way back in March this year.

Nest is a home automation company that initially started off by designing and manufactures programmable WiFi thermostats and smoke detectors. The company introduced its first product, the Nest Learning Thermostat, in 2011. It was acquired by Google earlier this year for US $3.2 billion.

The Revolv Smart Home Solution can be set up in under 60 seconds using only your smartphone or Tablet. Revolv pulls your WiFi information from your phone and transfers it to the Hub in seconds; all that is needed is a password. Post acquisition, Revolv will no longer be available to new customers, said the announcement.
