Senegal signs MoU with Internet Society for IoT security framework
The Senegal Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Internet Society to strengthen the Internet of Things (IoT) security. Together, they will develop an ‘IoT Security Framework’ for Senegal using the multi-stakeholder collaborative governance process – “a process that is accountable, sustainable, and effective.”The MoU , signed by Senegal’s Minister of Telecommunications and the Digital Economy HE Abdoulaye Bibi Baldé and the Internet Society’s Chief Executive Officer Andrew Sullivan, lays out a common strategy to develop and promote the digitisation of Senegal and its role in the IoT revolution. It also facilitates coordination of resources and skills from partners in Senegal and establishes a responsive and coherent network of allies. The signing of the agreement comes at the end of a meeting organised and coordinated in partnership with the Internet Society, Senegal Chapter, aimed to start a dialogue on IoT preparedness and priorities in Senegal.
