Seattle company’s move to attack IoT security barriers with device behavior profiling

ExtraHop

The Seattle based Cloud-native network detection and response solution provider ExtraHop has launched a suite of new features designed to streamline the secure adoption and implementation of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the enterprise.

According to a press release by the company, “ExtraHop Reveal(x)” will provide advanced discovery, classification, and behavior profiling for enterprise IoT devices, providing visibility from the device to the service layer.

While IoT reduces operational friction, making businesses more efficient, it comes at a cost. IoT moves computing power to the edge, vastly expanding the enterprise attack surface, and without visibility into what devices are connecting to the network and what resources they are accessing. All of which leaves organisations vulnerable to threats.

This is where ExtraHop Reveal(x) hopes to make a difference by providing the visibility, detection, and investigation capabilities security and IT organisations need to continuously secure and manage expanding IoT deployments.

Here’s the ‘live’ demo.
