Samsung Electronics Co. said here today that it would be soon releasing a solution featuring strong security and power efficiency that can be applied on Internet of Things (IoT) services.
According to news agency Yonhap Samsung introduced the Exynos i S111, a single chip solution that incorporates modem, processor, memory, and global navigation satellite system.
Samsung said the solution supports the NarrowBand IoT, a communication standard, which helps it to exchange data from long distances, to check locations of children and pets, and to transmit information on power or utility uses at households.
Samsung, said the report, said it applied various security measures to bolster the safety of the Exynos i S1111, including the Security Sub System, hardware for encryption and Physically Unclonable Function that prevents physical duplication.
The new Exynos solution, in addition, supports a power savings mode, minimizing the consumption of electricity. Samsung said two AA batteries are enough to keep a product equipped with the solution running for 10 years.
