At the launch of yesterday’s Galaxy device, Samsung also launched a tracker that is designed to work with Samsung’s SmartThings Find platform. It enables users to locate their Galaxy devices through the SmartThings app.

Samsung describes the gadget as “a tag that can be used to pinpoint the location of devices that aren’t connected to the Internet, like wallets, TV remotes, and keys using your phone.”

SmartTags can control various IoT devices with just a click of a button, so you can turn on the lights in your home before you even step inside.

If a tagged item is nearby and you can’t find it, you’ll be able to tap a button on your phone to make it ring, much like Tile. The trackers have a range of 120m, according to Samsung’s product page, and users will also be able to browse through the history of where a tag has been in Samsung’s app.

The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag uses Bluetooth low energy to communicate with your phone.
