Microsoft launches IOT developer certification

Microsoft recently launched the Azure IoT Developer certification. An IoT developer is responsible for the implementation and the coding required to create and maintain the Cloud and Edge portion of an Internet of Things (IoT) solution. In addition to configuring and maintaining the devices by using cloud services, the IoT developer also sets up the physical devices, and also maintaining the devices throughout the life cycle.

The AZ-220: Microsoft Azure IoT Developer (beta) exam validates a candidate’s expertise to implement the IoT solution infrastructure and validates the abilities to provision and manage both Edge and non-edge devices.

Next to that, the capabilities of processing and managing data will be tested throughout this exam, announced Microsoft. Operational skills like monitoring, optimising and securing the end-to-end solution are also included in the exam.

Following non-exhaustive list of Azure Services will be tested:

  • Azure IoT Hub
  • Azure IoT Edge
  • Device Provisioning Service
  • Azure Stream Analytics
  • Time Series Insights
  • Azure IoT Central
