IoT is here to stay, says device management company AVSystem

avsystemThe world’s evolution into an ‘Internet of Things (IoT) universe’ was an inevitable and necessary consequence of the pace of modern life, according to AVSystem, a Poland based company that was into advanced Customer Premises Equipment & device management for telcos.

Speaking from their booth at this year’s Broadband World Forum, Robert Ryłko, Vice President, Business Development at AVSystem, said that flexible and comprehensive management was required to cope with the rise of IoT.

“The recent evolution of the way we live and the devices we use in everyday life makes the integration and peaceful cohabitation of these elements much harder,” Ryłko said. “Multiple standards and technologies are already being used to answer particular needs of various environments’ use cases. AVSystem’s Coiote was designed to answer all of these needs and integrate them in a single unified environment consistent with the IoT paradigm.”

Implementation of the IoT archetype requires flexible management and monitoring tools, which enable the coordination of ecosystems of connected devices. At the same time the variety of Device Management (DM) protocols used across industries makes interoperability a serious issue which calls for protocol convergence and a robust, unified DM solution.

AVSystem, said Rylko, had responded to this challenge by developing the new Coiote platform which provided M2M Device Management, business processes orchestration, environmental monitoring and conditional action-triggering based on versatile criteria.

The Coiote platform was on display for the first time at this year’s Broadband World Forum in London.
