Internet of Things, Big Data to be discussed at Microsoft Ignite

microsoft iot windows 10The Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, Cloud infrastructure and management, and mobility are some of the topics up for discussion at the forthcoming Microsoft Ignite event.

The agenda for the event, to be held from May 4 and 8, 2015, was announced last week. There are over 700 sessions scheduled, and topics that will be taken up for discussion include a range of tech and IT related subjects.

One of the sessions will be on “Windows 10 for the Internet of Things”. Microsoft is one of the key players that has made IoT part of its future mission, and in that vein, the forthcoming Windows 10 OS will be equipped for IoT, targetting industry devices, including security, deployment, management, and connectivity.

In this session, Microsoft will introduce a new edition that brings Windows 10 for IoT devices.

Then, of course, is “Project Spartan”, a new browser within Windows 10, which Microsoft has said, will replace Internet Explorer. An exclusive session on “Project Spartan” (code name), is scheduled as part of Microsoft Ignite to give attendees a glimpse into what the new browser will be like.

Microsoft Ignite is positioned as a “learning experience” targetted at senior decision makers, IT professionals, enterprise developers, and tech partners. Those who have attended the Microsoft Exchange, Lync, Project, SharePoint, MMS, or TechEd conferences, too, may attend Ignite. The conference will present key insights on technology trends in the industry, and offer IT professionals who need hands-on experience to enhance their tech skills.

It’s also for enterprise developers and architects looking for innovative ways to maximize application development. The Microsoft Ignite has a slew of sessions covering the vast array of enterprise mobility topics such as consumerisation of IT/bring your own device (BYOD), mobile device management, security and access management, hybrid infrastructure, unified communications, virtualisation.

Microsoft Ignite will be held at the McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois. Among the speakers confirmed to address the various sessions are: Satya Nadella, Chief Executive Officer, Microsoft, Adam Harmetz, Group Program Manager, Microsoft, Asaf Kashi, Group Program Manager, Microsoft, Brad Anderson, Corporate Vice President, Enterprise Client & Mobility (ECM), Microsoft.
