Huge scale of potential savings in Industrial Internet Of Things

The Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data are hand-in-hand technologies rapidly changing the way businesses, governments and people everywhere think and work.

As the IoT continues to grow, it will become even more firmly entrenched in our every day lives. When people talk about the Internet, they usually only think about their mobile devices and desktop computers, yet everyday more unique devices are being connected to the Internet than ever before.

In the first quarter of 2016, there were more cars connected to Internet cell service which accounted for a third of all new cellular devices.  Eventually these cars will be autonomous making decision with a mind of its own. To continue, General Electric Company has been installing sensors into trains, measuring and monitoring engine efficiency which helped reduce fuel use by over six per cent.

Over time this increased speeds by up to twenty per cent in the trains that were installed with these electronic monitors. The city of Barcelona was name the smartest city in the world and saved 57 million dollars in water management while creating 47,000 new jobs. As you can see the IoT revolution has just begun and the innovations will continue to gain tractions.
