Glasgow’s Attempt to be IoT Leader

Glasgow, UK, Jan. 5, 2024: Glasgow City Council, the UK Government, and the Smart Things Accelerator Centre (STAC) have formed a partnership to establish Glasgow as Europe’s largest innovation hub for the Internet of Things (IoT) and other new technologies.

This includes a £2.5 million investment in a state-of-the-art facility called thebeyond at SkyPark in Glasgow. The city will also serve as a testbed for innovations through STAC. The goal is to make Glasgow a leader in technologies such as drones, robots, AI, IoT, and cleantech, while generating economic, social, and environmental benefits.

The collaboration aims to empower local start-ups, attract international investment, and create new jobs in the tech sector.
