Microsoft and General Electric Co. have joined hands to bring GE’s Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platform to Microsoft’s Cloud.
The two companies said Monday that GE’s Predix software platform, which enables industrial machines to connect to the IIoT would come to Microsoft’s Azure Cloud platform, allowing users to analyse and share data from their machines using Microsoft apps.
Microsoft’s Azure platform is competing with Amazon.com Inc. ’s Amazon Web Services, or AWS, Alphabet Inc.’s Google Cloud Platform and IBM’s SoftLayer.
