Wirepas, a Finnish startup that uses mesh networking for Internet of Things connectivity, has raised US $22 million in funding.
The company has 160 customers and 7 million devices connected using its technology. Markets where it operates include Australia, Germany, Finland, France, India, and the U.S. Some customers include the NHS, D4 Industry, Schaeffler, and energy utilities.
Wirepas’ decentralized architecture allows for better connectivity and can handle up to 4 billion devices. The company has filed 100 patents for its approach.
