Finnish IoT company raises €22m in growth funding

Finnish IoT company Haltian has raised €22m in growth funding from a group of investors led by Mandatum Asset Management Growth Equity II fund.

The funds will enable the firm to expand its IoT software and sensor solutions for real estate into the US and Europe. Haltian’s Empathic Building sensor provides digital twin solutions for desk-sharing offices and is being trialed in hospitals. The company has seen over 50 per cent annual growth and tripled turnover in just three years, and counts CBRE and ISS among its clients.

Haltian CEO and co-founder Pasi Leipälä said the funding would enable the firm to “boost our global commercialization efforts and to build a truly successful Finnish hi-tech story”, adding it would help the company to expand in Central Europe and North America and recruit new staff.
