‘Connexin’ wins IoT award for Smart City Deployment of the Year

Hull, England-based technology firm Connexin has been announced winner of the IoT Breakthrough Award for Smart City Deployment of the Year, for the Newcastle Smart Road pilot.

According to a press release by Connexin, this year’s awards program attracted more than 3,500 global nominations covering a range of categories, including industrial and enterprise IoT, smart city, connected home, home automation and connected car. The program recognises pioneering technologies and exemplary companies that are driving innovation in the Internet of Things (IoT) market.

With this win, Connexin joins the list of other well-known companies across other categories, including Samsung, Toshiba, Vodafone, Philips, Sony and Fitbit.

Nominations were evaluated by an independent panel of experts within the IoT industry, with winners selected based on a variety of criteria, including most innovative and technologically advanced products and services, evaluated nominations.
