Indian teleco giant Bharti Airtel has formed a strategic partnership with IntelliSmart Infrastructure to power up to 20 million smart meters.
This move marks Airtel’s entry into the smart metering market and will contribute to its growing IoT deployment. Airtel’s IoT proposition includes its proprietary platform, the Airtel IoT Hub, which will allow for advanced analytics and high reliability for the smart meters.
The Government of India aims to replace 250 million conventional meters with smart meters in the next five years, and Airtel IoT aims to play a pivotal role in enabling this vision.
