Looking at this market, AT&T has decided to provide an Internet of Things (IoT) development platform. Called the M2X Data Service, this is a managed service for developers that enables the collection, analysis and sharing of connected device data.
AT&T is offering developers three free test SIMs with AT&T connectivity in an effort to gain early adoption. The M2X suite includes developer tools, API access, testing tools and the aforementioned SIMs. From trucks and turbines to vending machines and freight containers, M2X enables the devices that power businesses to connect and share valuable data.
AT&T is banking on its global infrastructure to pull in developers to its latest platform. The AT&T M2X Developer Portal allows users to test their data sources before largescale deployment. Where pricing is concerned, there are different plans available, starting with a free one.
