IoT service provider ‘Soracom’ adds more nations to its network

Soracom.Inc., provider of Internet of Things (IoT) service has added seven more countries to its list of 110 nations where it provides service, and also reduced the cost of its cellular connectivity.

Soracom said in a post that beginning September 1, users in Canada will see an immediate decrease of over 50% in per-megabyte cost for IoT data. We’re really excited about the IoT projects coming out of Canada lately — we’ve seen everything from vehicle management and real estate to AgTech and herd management. We’re glad to be able to make IoT connectivity easier than ever for our Canadian partners.

Users in Mexico will also see a significant reduction in IoT data cost, along with customers in Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Greece, Greenland, Guernsey, Jersey, Montenegro, Netherlands, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, and Sweden.

Soracom is now offering its service on over 200 mobile networks. It said it had expanded its expanded LTE coverage. While earlier this year, it had announced the availability of LTE IoT data in the United States, Canada, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Italy, Finland, France, Greece, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Singapore, and Turkey, the list now has Albania, Estonia, Mexico, Sweden, Japan, South Korea, Poland, and the United Kingdom.

Soracom claims its ‘pay as you go’ pricing with device usage aggregated across all devices, has helped it grow. Customers do not have to sign any contracts, give commitments or sign any NDAs.
